KM Imperial Stout

Batch Size:  3 gallons Boil Time:  90 min.
Starting Gravity:  ~1.085 Finishing Gravity:  ~1.024
Primary Fermentation: Secondary Fermentation:

 

Ingredients:

8 lb Maris Otter pale ale malt
1 lb Wheat malt
1 lb Carapils
1.5 lb 90 L Crystal
0.5 lb chocolate malt
0.2 lb black patent malt
0.5 lb roasted barley
0.5 oz East Kent Goldings (60 min)
0.5 oz Fuggles (60 min)
1 oz East Kent Goldings (20 min)
0.5 oz Fuggles (20 min)
1 oz Fuggles (aroma)
0.5 oz Tettnanger (aroma)

Procedure:

Mash at 156 degrees
Wort tastes like hoppy ovaltine. Age at least
three months in bottles. Next time I'm going to
try Wyeast Scottish Ale yeast in this one
